NFC West Betting USA

The NFC West Division is one of four division that belongs to the National Football Conference in the United States. The NFC West Division belongs to the NFL, and it forms part of eight divisions within that the National Football League. This particular division was established in 1967, and it was named the National Football League Coastal Division. It was given this name because it was going to have all the teams that are located close to the coasts of the US.

The Coastal Division comprised of four teams, namely, the Atlanta Falcons, the Baltimore Colts, the Los Angeles Rams as well as the San Francisco 49ners. The Colts and the Falcons were in the east coast while the Rams and the 49ners were on the west coast. These teams had to travel long distances when they were playing against each other because the coasts were located on opposite sides.

Once the merger between the AFL and the NFL happened in 1970, the Baltimore Colts moved to AFC East. The Colts were replaced by the New Orleans Saints in the NFC West Division. The Carolina Panthers were also added in the division in 1995.

NFC West Teams

The division has seen a lot of change with teams joining and leaving. Since the 2016 regular NFL season, the 49ers have dominated the division. Here is a quick look at the different teams within the NFC West Division:

  • Los Angeles Rams: The Rams moved around the NFL divisions for an extended period. This team is the only one that has won a championship while representing three different cities. The club was first established in 1936 and was initially named the Cleveland Rams, and they were based in Cleveland. After the club won the 1945 NFL Championship, they moved to Los Angeles and soon changed their name.
  • Baltimore Colts: The team got its name because of the horse breeding and racing history in Baltimore. The Colts were the first team to have cheerleaders, a marching band as well as a war song. Over the years the Colts have had a lot of owners and from Rosenbloom to Bob Irsay. The team has also had some star players such as Raymond Berry, Art Donovan, Ted Hendricks, to name a few.
  • San Francisco 49ers: This team was founded in 1946 as a member of the AAFC. But it later joined the NFL in 1949. Between 1981 and 1994 the team has won five Super Bowl championships. They have won 19 division titles between 1970 and 2019. These victories have made them one of the most successful teams in NFL history. The 49ers have appeared in the playoffs 50 times.
  • Atlanta Falcons: The first time the Falcons joined the National Football League was in 1965. The Falcons have appeared in two Super Bowl championships. The first one was in 1998. The team has not always had a good running, their first preseason game was in 1966, and they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, since acquiring a new coach, Dan Reeves, the team has had some great seasons to date.

NFC West Team Odds

Football experts believe that the Los Angeles Rams are set to become the NFC West victors this year, as they are -130 favourites. Since the 49ers acquired Jimmy Garoppolo as their star quarterback, the 26-year-old has led the team to a 5-0 record. However, the experts do not believe that the team should have the second-best odds to win the NFC West title. The offensive line of the 49ers is good, but experts do not believe it is good enough to win the NFC West title.
