DraftKings Sportsbook App Soon to Launch

A DraftKings Sportsbook App is about to hit West Virginia very soon. The app has passed through a process of regulatory tests, which means that it could launch as soon as next week. A spokesperson for the sportsbook was able to confirm that the app has passed the regulatory process but was unwilling to give a launch date as yet.

The Director of West Virginia Lottery, John Meyer, was one of the people who oversaw the testing process and seemed to have been quite happy about the online sportsbook. The testing process, including testing whether the app could verify that a player is indeed located within West Virginia while gambling.  The regulatory testing report seemed to alleviate many of the concerns that Director Meyer held.

The DraftKings sportsbook is currently only available in Mississippi and New Jersey, although there are plans to expand to other states. DraftKings was the first betting operator to introduce a sportsbook app in New Jersey.

Other Sportsbooks Similar to DraftKings Sportsbook App

The second phase of West Virginia’s sports betting plans is about to start. Many stakeholders are expecting FanDuel Sportsbook to follow DraftKings. Willian Hill is another sportsbook that is expected to make its way to West Virginia, mainly because it has an existing app in Nevada. Many bettors in the industry have heard rumours that Penn National Gaming is also going to release its platform under the Hollywood name.

Some sportsbooks like BetLucky, have a long way to go in launching their platforms in West Virginia. But plans have been made to make strides in the arena. DraftKings has also made plans to operate in New York as well as partnering with Caesars to expand its operations elsewhere. The imminent launch of the DraftKings sportsbook app comes as good news for bettors.
